DISCIPLINE - Season 2007 / 2008
To All Club Secretaries,

Dear Secretary,

DISCIPLINE

Disciplinary offences in the main are usually of the minor type, caused by some clubs failing to conduct every day business effectively. Match cards, Results, League correspondence are still a problem for some teams/clubs.

Our main concern though was the number of County discipline reports issued throughout the season. This bad practice by some clubs/teams has to stop.

Please familiarise yourself with the FA Standard Code of Rules.

Fines will be issued to any club(s) failing to comply.

The divisional secretaries are there to help and guide you, but in return, they need your help, to ensure the smooth running of the League.

Season 2006-07 closed with a number of county sanctions brought before the members at the League AGM. On this occasion no member clubs, officials or spectators were refused entry into the league for the coming season, although in some instances voting was extremely close. I trust and hope that these discipline problems are behind us and we can move on with renewed optimism considering what we are all in this game for.

I believe that some people have their own agenda with regard to the aims and aspirations of the Timperley & District Junior Football League. I must make it clear that our objectives have not changed and we strive to give the best possible sporting, safe, fair play and competitive football activities for all your players.

Spectator problems are still cause for concern. We must with your help remove these individuals from our League, (remember the behaviour of spectators at matches is the responsibility of the home club).

There is an initiative running within Junior and Youth football to eradicate problems associated with aggressive and abusive behaviour from players and spectators. The aim is to promote zero tolerance of defamatory comments or bad language towards referees, players and supporters and to promote an environment for sportsmanship and fair play and to encourage safe participation for players and spectators in local football. The T&DJFL supports this initiative wholeheartedly.

The management team is there to help so please consult with us if you have any problems appertaining to discipline within your club.

Please be aware, that the League will fully enforce the rules as set out in the Standard Code of Rules, which could mean suspension from the League, for teams who continually fail to meet the required disciplinary code of conduct.

Have a successful and sporting season.
